Nuts and Saddles
Bone Nut
Arguably the most critical factor in how well a guitar plays in terms of tuning stability, action, and intonation through the lower frets. Starting with a blank, we will carve a new nut fit specifically for your instrument. Proper shaping of each nut slot as well as the shaping of the overall nut guarantees that your instrument will tune easily with your specified string gauge. It is generally recommended to have a setup done after the installation of a new nut or saddle to guarantee the best playing experience. Â There is a $30.00 additional fee for the removal of difficult, heavily finished nuts. This will only be charged if the existing nut cannot be removed in one piece.

Bone Saddle
Many acoustic guitars come with plastic saddles that wear quickly and change the string radius overtime. Starting with a blank, we will carve a bone saddle for your acoustic guitar with built in intonation compensation. It is generally recommended to have a setup done after the installation of a new nut or saddle to guarantee the best playing experience.

Fretwork
Fret Dress

Unfortunately frets wear, leaving you with flat fret tops or divots that catch the strings. When this happens, a guitar's intonation is compromised and playability suffers. Our fret dress consists of levelling, crowning, and polishing the frets to a mirror shine and is typically all that is needed to correct this.
Full Refret

When frets reach a height of .030" or less, it is time to replace them. Our full refret includes fixing inconsistencies in the fingerboard, installation of new frets, and a fret dress. A new nut is often needed for proper string clearance over the new, taller frets.
Fix Sharp Fret Ends

Includes careful filing and reshaping of offending fret ends, a full polish of all frets, and restringing. Strings not included.
